For her blessing book

My dearest, most wonderful, light of my life Mila,

On the eve of your baptism I want to tell you the hopes and prayers I have for your long life ahead. I pray that you will be as beautiful on the inside as you are out. May you always be kind to others and lead by example. Kindness and gentleness with others are some of the best gifts you can offer to those around you. Try with all your might to keep your temper reigned in. Keep a sense of cheerfulness and optimism about you. Be able to break into a dance when a difficult situation hits you in the face, the way your Papa does. Be helpful but don't let people walk all over you. Let guilt go. Stop and smell the roses (right now you try to eat the roses, and that is okay too).
Your Papa and I love you more than we could have ever imagined, you are more than we ever dared hope for and day after day we still whisper to one another in near-disbelief that you are really ours. I thank God that He has entrusted you to me and I pray to be worthy of being your mother. To have the grace that only He can give me to guide and teach you with love and patience. To know when to lead you but also when to step back. I am yours forever, and here as long as you want me to be. No one will ever love you the way I do.

                                                             Love, your Mama.
